I have been fortunate to work with Tania Lattanzio in two different schools, the International School of Kuala Lumpur and Cebu International School (CIS). Her skill and knowledge served her well in developing quality outcomes with both faculties. She effectively engaged and provided support for all participants no matter their knowledge level or grade level taught (preschool to grade 12). She demonstrated extensive knowledge in constructivism and inquiry-based instruction. It is obvious she understands the teaching and learning process and has a deep understanding of the curriculum and how to best present it. One of the good things about Tania is that she tailors her workshops to meet the specific needs of her audience. Teachers at both schools, and all levels, walked away with several strategies to use immediately in their classrooms.
Andrea's work with staff was more than curriculum innovation. It was about creating a real focus on collaborating and connecting to refine a shared learning and teaching vision for our Junior Years that every staff member could actively contribute to. The staff have truly embraced the opportunities for learning and reflecting on pedagogy and where education is going in our changing world. As a result this obvious energy and commitment has improved learning opportunities for our students right across the Junior School. Andrea's leadership, experience and knowledge have undoubtably helped us to create the future.
Over nearly four years of working with Andrea Muller on Inquiry learning, our experiences have been professionally and personally engaging, challenging and rewarding, as well as highly productive and effective. Throughout the process Andrea has brought an expert level of knowledge to our professional learning, from theory to practical implementation. Her wealth of knowledge about the current practice and curriculum in Australia, and also her broader knowledge of education across the globe allow her to bring a perspective and expertise to her work that is rare to find. Andrea’s experience, flexibility and adaptability have also allowed her to quickly connect with the school community, developing trust and respect within the community. We look forward to continuing to work with Andrea to further strengthen our skills and knowledge of the Inquiry learning.
Working with Tania was a joy for our Music Faculty. Her ability to help us define, refine and succinctly mold our ideals of what we wanted Music Education to look like. We created central ideas within a concept focused curriculum that will guide us into the future and provide the framework for our curriculum discussions beyond. Marrying two different curriculum frameworks is never an enviable task but this became achievable with Tania’s knowledge of a Conceptual Curriculum and ACARA – which could be transferred to most curriculum frameworks from around the world.
